I am following up on the previous blog entry i have wrote. I don't even listen popular singers that are currently on the radio chart. Most of them have that passion or wiling to do something for the music. In fact the way i see and hear them as well as their songs, they are merely putting their own expectation as much they think that it is their best. I always believe that singers should give his best to all go out singing until the fans and listeners enjoyed. Good song or good voice is simply not enough. That is why i don't listen Ayumi..She is the type of where she treat music as money opportunity for her. I understand her and her songs are not in my list either. She said it herself when she doesn't mind doing anything as long as there is money opportunity for her and her recording company. Nowadays music industry isn't that good now. If you are listening those half-assed songs, you are simply contended. That is good. Some people who are looking something special will not be contended with just this kind of music standard. Let me recount the singers i respect for their efforts. They are Eason Chan, Joey Yung and Nicholas Tse. I do listen songs when i happen to hear songs from movies and animes. It attract me with unbelievable effort to make music that intergrate with movies and animes.
Let me write some profile of Eason Chan and Joey Yung so that you can see why i respect their attitude as singers.
Joey Yung:
In 1995 at the young age of 15, Joey was participating in many singing contests, including the Big Echo Karaoke Singing Contest, in which she was given the opportunity to be an artist of Go East Entertainment Co. Ltd.. However, her talent did not win the recognition of the company. Go East ended the contract with Joey soon after the song 'The First Time I Want to be Drunk', which is the theme song of a movie, was recorded. The song is Joey's only song produced by Go East.
Afterwards, she continued with school while also working as a clerk and helping her mother in managing the business of a fashion boutique. She was later introduced to Golden Pony Records Co. Ltd. by an ex-colleague of Go East. Not long after she joined the company, it withdrew its business in Hong Kong. Joey's singing career was once again terminated. A couple of years after, she followed Roman Tam, the godfather of Canto-pop, to learn singing.
It may be insufficient. What i know is that she tried to fulfill her dream as singer and working hard to become one. Thanks to EEG, she became one producing some brilliant songs i liked to listen again and again!
Eason Chan:
I can't find the profile i used to read. It was bloody amazing that he went against his father's wish to be like him. He quit studying degree in UK and went back to Hong Kong. He participated a singing contest and won the first prize. EEG signed him as singer. His father told him that his career would not last long and it was not easy to be Andy Lau. At this point he told his father to give him few years and see where he stand now. Amazingly, he gave all his best to sing songs until he is one of the hottest cantopop singer today. Despite of his not-so-attractive look, he still work hard to sing beautifully. That is where he earn my respect. Beside that the moment fans egged at Nicholas, he hug Nicholas and told him to do his best. Today, Eason and Nicholas are best friend for each other.
After reading the interview with Kevin Keegan with UK media, Chronicle Sport the Newcastle United darling, his opinion earn my respect. He want attacking brand onto his managing team despite of unable to have any coaching badges. And yet today people still tell him that they simply love that newcastle team he used to manage. Kevin Keegan retired from professional soccer scene but he is now managing soccer circus with his philsophy to entertain people.
The Last King of Scotland(United Kingdom Movie 2006)
Synopsis:
In the early 1970s, Nicholas Garrigan, a young semi-idealistic Scottish doctor, comes to Uganda to assist in a rural hospital. Once there, he soon meets up with the new President, Idi Amin, who promise a golden age for the African nation. Garrigan hits it off immediately with the rabid Scotland fan, who soon offers him a senior position in the national health department and becomes one of Amin's closest advisers. However as the years pass, Garrigan cannot help but notice Amin's increasingly erratic behavior that grows beyond a legitimate fear of assassination into a murderous insanity that is driving Uganda into bloody ruin. Realizing his dire situation with the lunatic leader unwilling to let him go home, Garrigan must make some crucial decisions that could mean his death if the despot finds out
Opinions:
Nice story how real-life dictator lived. I am quite impressed with the story as well as feel sorry for this young man who was merely looking for something different from his homeland, Scotland as well as his family. Living in unknown foreign land for few years, he became wiser and regret moving away from Scotland and wished that his father will be there to nag him with all kind of responsbility.
Rating:7/10
Bonus:1)Great story and viewpoint on this dictator 2)serious filming out there
