Writing blog is somewhat similiar to writing papers during examination. It is very easy to forget some events or things to write. That is why i forget to write something for last blog entry.

Well, i shall not write the missing parts which i wanted to write in my mind. The next blog entry is likely to be about Singapore economy based on my view and analysis.

Look at the stack of textbooks including first 3 books on the top which are borrowed from library. It is heavy workload that make me occupied for almost whole day. It go on every day till the exam come. When does my examination come?It is roughly on March 2008. YOu bet!

Transformers(Hollywood Movie 2007)
Synopsis:
A long time ago, far away on the planet of Cybertron, a war was being waged between the noble Autobots (led by the wise Optimus Prime) and the devious Decepticons (commanded by the dreaded Megatron) for control over the Allspark, a mystical talisman that would grant unlimited power to whoever possessed it. The Autobots managed to smuggle the Allspark off the planet, but Megatron blasted off in search of it. He eventually tracked it to the planet of Earth (circa 1850), but his reckless desire for power sent him right into the Arctic Ocean, and the sheer cold forced him into a paralyzed state. His body was later found by Captain Archibald Witwicky, and before going into a comatose state Megatron used the last of his energy to engrave a map, showing the location of the Allspark, into the Captain's glasses, and send a transmission to Cybertron. He is then carted away by the Captain's ship. A century later, Sam Witwicky, nicknamed Spike by his friends, buys his first car. To his shock, he discovers it to be Bumblebee, an Autobot in disguise who is to protect Spike, as he bears the Captain's glasses and the map carved on them. But Bumblebee is not the only Transformer to have arrived on Earth - in the desert of Qatar, the Decepticons Blackout and Scorponok attack a U.S. military base, causing the Pentagon to send their special Sector Seven agents to capture all "specimens of this alien race," and Spike and his girlfriend Mikaela find themselves in the middle of a grand battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, stretching from Hoover Dam all the way to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, within the depths of Hoover Dam, the cryogenically stored form of Megatron awakens...

As promised, i will roll out of my thought and modest philosophy towards human behaviour. During a span of two weeks, i heard a lot of interesting things about my friends especially my former classmates whom i never heard before. Of course i rarely poke my nose into my classmates' lives.

Before i start it, the question for all of us including myself: "Are we supposed to open the 'box' that contain dark secret which we are not supposed ot know?". Frankly speaking in the strictness sense, with my utmost guarantee, we will always listen only one side of tape which mean we have the chance to know the content of Side A of tape but we never have a chance to know Side B of the tape. The reason why we do not know the Side B of the tape is that we are not given a chance to find out unless someone let cat out of the bag. In a nutshell, you are seeing, watching, reading or listening only one side of the story all the time and you have very very low possibility to find out further more than that! I shall start it with much confidentiality on some certain names because i never get the chance to hear the other side of the tape.

Not so long ago, around few days ago, Daniel suddenly pop up out of blue with a message asking me if i knew this female friend of his. By showing picture on MSN display picture, at very late night, I, upon seeing the picture confirmed that I do know her. Being puzzled, i asked him what is up. He told me interesting story which he happen to be going out with her recently for few days. He was concerned and frustrated with her who happened to pick a guy -apparently he seem to be stranger to her and him- in the MOS and then danced. The end of that day that make him even more frustrated is that she left with that guy and effectively left him alone there. He had the wild thought based on a few hours span between MOS to her home. As he know that she reached home at 8am, it with enough speculative evidence led him thinking that she and that guy went to hotel. I told him to find out more and forget about the timid attitude which he always has. He did ask and her answers seem to be unsatisfactory. You know...iit can be helped at all if he continue to lose trust on her.

That is the interesting story of the day i heard. I always know her as naive girl with gentle enthusiasm towards devising ideas. Beyond than that, such attributes can out of your judgement/opinion of someone. Today, i never change my opinion of her because if I were to chance, I need to verify the fact of that. I wonder how much Eugene know about her especially hidden attributes because he went with her quite often during the early days of our schooling. I bet you know who she is,Eugene.

Next one...I will illustrate it with my knowledge. I say it fill of danger. It does apply to your life and career. My male former classmate....

He once announced on MSN nick. It is quite eye-catching. His income is 1/10th(about this number; i can't remember exactly) of a lot of people's yearly income...$20k per month..a boss in pub partnership and investing om concerts and interesting projects. Wonderful. i think he is not wrong to say if you believe, you can do it. That is right. I always tell someone that if you believe, what you want will come to you if you work hard properly.

HOWEVER!!!If Junbin spend extravagantly noting that he has plan to travel to each country in each month(China,Korea and few), he is going to be in trouble in few years later. He is not well-known person. He is not within fortune 500 list or listed in top 100 by forbes. To prolong his retirement next and his own entertainment, he must save money if he has only those activities to earn money. It is increasingly important to think of new business plan. WHY?!??!

Economic cycle always change. Your success of this business will be washed away by economics cycle easily. Good example are websites with soar-high stock price in early 1990s and suddenly most of then went bankrupt. It is vicious cycle. That is why many corporations and big companies contantly undergo transition to survive.
The more money he put aside for less-risky investment, he can have everlasting enjoyment in his life.

Not only that, his income will eroded by ever growing inflation. Inflation do erode your purchasing power if your wage is not growing faster than inflation rate. It give further conviction why he need to pick more knowledge(don't have to go to school to study) in any means to do different business. Should he has no such plan for backup or innovative ones he thought of, his $20k earning can be rendered useless if Singapore is experiencing hyperinflation. Do not count eggs before the chicken hatch! What am i trying to imply? If you are young and have more years to work, you only can relax when you retire with sufficient retirement nest. Do not ever think that your wage/income is enough to last for your lifetime. You can never know that you have no more money for your retirement net. I kid you not!!I have been hearing a lot of real life stories about people who retired and yet they found that their amount of money they left is insufficient. And so, you better not be sorry later on for not heeding this piece of worthy thing. Just ask your parent..'HOW MUCH DOES A CUP OF COFFEE COST IN 20 years ago?' It will show the effect of inflation on pricing of commodity goods.

If you are having one mode of earning income, you better start planning how to increase your money that you have right now. It is good thing i study economics. I simply love it!

Next one and the last one..Last two Wednesday ago, Vshal asked me to cross Orchard Road with him from outside the Orchard MRT station to Tangs. I do not wish to cross the road like that and want to cross through underground. I put my bravado saying that i am too scared to cross the road because of huge traffic there. We walked on pavement towards Takashimaya and this time, it is further from traffic light. We did cross without any problem. I bet Louis remember how i got accident. It made me much more wiser. Vishal told me: ,"to be leader, you must not be scared and must be brave." Such advice can be useful in right application in the right time. But it is not correct to apply when crossing the road. I know how he feel. That time when i was young kid, i was that gung ho. I have no qualms crossing the road. But now i am 24 years old, I am getting more risk-adverse.

Let consider the scenario. There is blind spot from Scott Road to Orchard Road, should the vehicle suddenly accerelate after a turn, there is high possibility of getting knocked down. Being gungho all the time may not be so useful. One day, it will haunt you. Are you going to be brave driving a car at 200km/h( i do know that vishal dare do it) and then you gamble your life away by crashing against something? your life is gone and your parents will be crying. More heartache on parents and your heart and mind is already gone by the time you die. Consider this and that is why it is not wise to play brave person all the time. Alternatively, if you are trying too brave to put all the money without doing enough homework on stock market, you are going to be penniless in no time.

I will only applaud if you are brave enough to stand up protecting someone being builled against bullies. Noteable and meaning actions is to be brave only when you want to protect someone in the danger time where it can result death or heavy injury.
In other word, most of our principle we have are inflexible and they can only be used in the right fitting scenario. There are few flexible principles we must carry all the time and abandon inflexible ones in the day when it become useless or not useful any more. And so, it is very important to think wisely and apply it correctly.
-End of my thoughts-

Ah, I begin watching Over Tune Japanese anime. I find it morale-inspiring to me and i got motivated to study harder. That is why i love watching sports related animes. They really do motivate me. UOL course is truly tough. I ran down to the downloaded four subject guides.
Microeconomics' recommend texts are 4 textbooks!Principle of banking and finance recmmended text are 3 textbooks. Corporate Finance recommend texts are only 2 textbooks while Principle of Accounting recommend text is fortunately one textbook.
However i do intend to read further text and research suggested by UOL study guide if i want to know more. I bought 6 first hand textbooks and one second textbook. I borrowed two microeconomics textbooks(the other 2 are the ones i bought) and one for POA. I read and read. I read nearly more than 1000 pages in 2 weeks varing from few different books! Microeconomics has the highest failure rate which proved that a lot of students who took this subject twice in different year failed(in the end their certificate say condoned on this Microeconomics). Incredible. I love competition and challenge like this. I want to learn more and more in this kind of environment.

With little friends in this course, i get the chance to study my favourite subjects freely with 100% serious attitude. It is my biggest challenge i want to have. Why live the easy life when you are very young person! Go and make use of your youthfulness confronting the challenges! When to live easy life? It is when we get OLD! Definitely, if I live long, i will be retiring to the countryside enjoying the grass and breeze while fishing or gardening! That is why i may blog less than usual. Let me explain something.

Different universities aim on each subject. It may sound the same subject to you but it is not. It is because of different specalisatied focus. For example, LSE heavily focus on economics on many subjects. And so you should check carefuly and decide whether u really want to take this course or not. What count the most is its subject speciality. Not the easy course or subjects itself! You won't want to regret it.

Wah, i am so lucky to have some time to write blog today. After this, i am going to sleep. Bloody tired and my eyes are trying to shut me down as i just ran only few pages of textbook!

Today topic is about customer service that is very natural and not scripted at all. I was there to see an amaziing incident. Of course there are good and bad experiences from each company based on your friends and customers' experience.
I want to point that your natural action based on your instinct thinking(not neccessary the best) will bring happiness in you and stranger or friend who is interacting with you.

"Lance's friend accidentally tripped the water bottle and the water was all over on the keyboard of Dell laptop. He asked me for troubleshoot help. Upon hearing, i suggested him to make a call to Dell for repair.

Lance kindly told Dell on phone that his laptop was not working and his warranty for his laptop had expired. Oddly enough, Dell customer service officer (seem to be reading some kind of manual) to instruct him to press some different buttons in different occassions in hope that it would work. Sadly, it didn't work. The customer service officer finally arrived to conclusion that he had to send technical officer for repair.

Customer Service officer asked him to provide any credit card details, contact number and his address. It cost him $600+ to replace motherboard, hard disk and keyboard.
However, Lance had a lesson in SIM and customer service officer directed technician to SIM for on-site repair. Surprisingly, the technician is an student from Unisim. Technical officer managed to meet Lance through mobile call at SIM canteen. The end of the story is when technician did repair his laptop in SIM until his laptop was working."

With this incident, it left good experience to Lance. When asked by me, he would buy new laptop from Dell again. Dell made-in-china battery explosion will be forgetten and it doesn't smear dell's reputation.

Next blog entry will be human and unbelieveable stories.

Last week, i attended all 4 different subjects(Principle of Banking and Finance, Microeconomics, Principle Of Accounting, Corporate Finance). All 4 lecturers are not too bad.

Principle of Banking Finance lecturer- Jonathan Peh.. He tries hard to teach and i find him quite reliable to my standard but may not be reliable to other people's standard. Apparently, i heard from my Micro classmate who was taught by him last year couldn't understand his teaching at all. It seem that my reading on finance books aid me a lot. He tried to talk a lot about real-life investment and tried to articule terminlogy. I liked and appreciate it. My passion is there to learn all those terminlogy.

Microeconomics Lecturer- Mark Harris.. Fantastic lecture with unique teaching style. Many people may not appreciate his teaching style but i do despite of his speaking accent. He brought me greater challenge and quite commited to help me in some areas. Somehow he is not open-minded as Patrick but he is quite approachable and taking his initative to approach me if i have any problem because i never took foundation unit, Introduction to Economics(exempted). He even bother to type additional informations from Introduction to Economics on his lecture notes. One thing i learnt from him which i never knew is that in UK unversities, you will not be given a lecture note and you are on your own setting up your own notes! FWAH! I really love this challenge but too bad!

Principle of Accounting- Ms Chu Mui Kim...She talk very clear and loud enough to get her message across to my ears so easily. Having learnt Accounting for so many years, she just get straight to the point teaching theory and making things more interesting. I like that and i learnt theory well. It is true that i am best in practical but not in theory part. I enjoyed her first lesson plus i am quite surprised to see few DMS classmates studying in the same class as me!

Corporate Finance- Dr Johnny Tan... Quite private guy but great communicator with powerful voice. He keep on reminding the class the biggest mistake which any student commonly make. I learnt a lot of new things.

I feel that i have to study consistently to catch up the things on time. Such neglence till few months before examin will make you feel lost in no time. Microeconomics is taking a lot of my time to study. Therefore, i decide to blog once a week if possible. I love learning new topics regarding Hicks and Slutsky principle!!! I think it is better to follow lecturers who made such analysis on examination and know subjects very well. Like Mark Harris!!!!!!!

I made few friends in UOL course because most of students come from different courses and different years. Therefore, it is not easy to make friend immediately.
I don't make friends who are like Jason. No need to find best students and make friends just to leech their knowledge especially when you have your limbs and brain to study.

It was triple coincidence to see Daniel Tan, James, and Patrick within 30 minutes in a day! Clementi Bookstore suddenly revoke the policy to offer free plastic transparent book covers upon purchase of textbooks and I feel that there is no more benefit going there other than some textbooks offering at lower price than SIM Popular bookstore.

When i was studying for DMS examination last month, i happened to read thread in online forum about flaw on Unisim's 4th university. Someone suggest: ,"can sue misrepresentation"(roughly like this). Another nick came in and gave one long post rebuking this person why we cannot sue Unisim for misrepresentation. I am totally impressed with the usage of the key law codes which i was learning for examination. I was blown by this comment! Too bad, I couldn't write beautifully as much as he did during my Business Law exam. I love writing formally than informally!!!!

Today, i attended UOL lesson for the first time. The lesson is Principles of Banking and Finance. For a long time, i wanted to learn this course but was denied by NP and so this time i got a chance to learn much higher level and yet one of the most difficult course by UOL. So far, the lesson is fine but not every teacher can teach like James and Patrick whom i would like them to be. I think Mrs Yu teaching style is quite good too and i was able to settle down my accounting skill very easily.

Wah, i read last saturday's TNP article about Lin Chi Ling. I can't believe that she don't mind dating shorter guy as long as he has heart which mean he don't really care about face and leg because when come living together, they aren't relevant and..oh yes..politeness as well. Beside that, she also mentioned that a man's magnanimity is more important than height. Her comment really raise my eyebrow. Look like the rumour about her legendary EQ is true. Before this comment, i already did a liking to her when she first appear in some kind of movie award show in taiwan last year. I was in awe how she wore and perform as compere. No doubt her future is secure other than her being featured in an incoming Battle of Chibi.

I already start reading local Business Times weekdays. 'How Federal Reserves handle the problem of sub-prime loan' is aleady hot. I notice that mass want Federal Reserves want to cut further upon open market committee that will be held on Sept 18.
There is another article collecting all comments from CEO, vice-presidents from different companies about tourisms. All comments they have has one thing common. It is 'time is not our side'. So far, i like a few comments from them. Quite reasonable and low cost. Some things from their comments( i modify them abit to make them much more better) are must which i think -
1)improving customer services through personal training
2)retrain all workers to such suitable course for better education
3)centralised database running off powerful network connection to spread information where accomdation can be booked upon busy day like F1 event
Such implements like this will result in an increased government spending but however there is no telling which state of economy Singapore will be in next year. It will be very very very favourable if it is in inflation state in the simplest sense.

劇場版BLEACH [ブリーチ] (Bleach Movie:Memories of Nobody)(Japanese Animation Movie 2006)
Synopsis:
In Karakura Town, there has been a sudden outbreak of unidentifiable spirits called "blanks" (vacant souls) while in the skies of Soul Society, the real world has been reflected. A mysterious female shinigami called Senna has appeared before Ichigo along with a man named Ganryu, leading a group called the "Dark Ones".

Opinion:
It is really brilliant story that make many people feel sad for friendship. Unbelieveable, this animation movie easily pwned any real life sad story based on friendship. I love how the ending finishes itself. I strongly believe that animation movie should deserve attention for worldwide viewing.

Rating:7/10
Bonsuses:1)BANKAI!ICHIGO and who else :D 2)touching and yet meaningful story

Nowdays, personal consumption had indeed increase as per newspaper article mentioned. My mother action itself justify a lot to me. She never bought any DVD,VCD or any item worth $20 and above. But now she did buy due her diligence work on stock exchange. I hope that she should think carefully because it is difficult for me to converse her how stock market work in chinese.

6 September 2007(Saturday)...After light workout with Marvin and his friend, i walked to Yishun library to meet Zhongming there. I was appalled with the size of the library. It is so small and cramped into a town council building. In my opinion, MP for Yishun area should lobby for government spending to build a new independent library(not shared with others) which is just similar to Jurong East'. It is sensible one with much consideration on demographics factor which show that Yishun is quite big area comprising two MRT stations namely Yishun and Khatib.

After browsing books on business section, i glanced at my mobile phone. It is quite early to have dinner and so i asked him that we should walk all the way from Yishun to Woodlands. He agreed. And so we walked all the way! :D
Oh,i love walking and walking. I wish that i can hike around the world.

While walking, we already were in Sembawang area. We happened to see a kid cycling with his bicycle at fast speed zooming past us as we were crossing the road upon green man light. Apparently, i saw a taxi car move slowly, then stop and eventually move on at slow pace. Until it knock the kid who was riding the bicycle. A loud knock sound registered our ears where we are just behind the minor accident. Good thing is that taxi driver came out of his car and apologise the kid.
If you ask me, it is both faults. Kid is too gung-ho to feel adrenaline to ride bicycke at fast speed of pace. In such a sense based on our thoughts, taxi driver could be watching at us hence the reason why he drive like that. I think the kid can take out the law code: Duty of Care in this scenario. Taxi driver may have hard time to explain but 'but for' test can be applicable to prove his innocent negligence.

That is why we should not be impatient doing things fast. Not being careful, we can cause injury to ourselves as well as other people. A loss of limb will reduce your job loss and difficulty to find another job. And so don't try to think ,"WHAT FOR!Why must we care about safety/" My thumb rule is 'Safety come first, anything else come last". If you don't think so, very well, you will understand when you get older with enoughe working experience especially manual work. Last time i was like that until i understood later on when senior colleagues always remind me to be careful when doing work. Today, good handling of things will preval anything else. You don't need brutal force to do things. all you need is simple, correct and yet so smart handling of work that result effective and efficient. I remembered when i use trolley that hold beyond the capacity of 30 boxes and i tried brutal force to push over the floor where it has a small gap. Alas, it got strucked on the gap. Brutal force with muscles make you look idoit. My boss scold me not using brain and so he demonstrated. Whoops, all you need is a simple physics at work to push trolley over the gap without brutal force! At that point, i realised that i should use brain more than brutual force. Today, i always tell Zhongming to use brain more often. The more you use brain, the brain will be active all the time. The brain motor will function better enabling him to remember much more than before. The brain will be ineffective if brain is at idle all the time. That is why i am arranging a lot of acitivity to engage my brain all the time. Indeed, good handling of work with brain prevail over brutal force with muscles. Therefore, i become mature person beacuse of those experiences i picked. Thanks to my colleagues and bosses who taught me! With safety first policy, you can easily prevent any accident that is within your control! Don't kid yourself! You are not young person any more as you age.

Amazingly,if you do slowly, you will get to see interesting things like this which you don't get to see very often. I never forgot the incident few years ago back.
When i was going home late from town by train, at Jurong East MRT station, i happened to see a old man who was trying to cross the train track as the train was approaching! Bloody hell, that is one hell stunt which no reasonable person will do. The MRT driver was so shocked that he honked! He applied the brake and came out scolding at the old man. It is not a young man but old man. Where is the sense of maturity? It is good example that there are many people who are olders than us behave, thinking or talking like young people. I strongly feel that there should be equal and fair status and respect between old and young people. There is no way to let old people hogging on us just because of seniority. MY FOOT!

Finally, we reached Woodlands. It took us 2 hours to reach there by walk. Incredible! Just in time to have dinner! There are so many books i want to read!!!!

I read few threads that one same person started all three threads. He made me laugh like mad! He got PhD,MBA,degree and a lot of educational papers. By right, he should have job by now BUT he has no job today! His requirement is somewhat too high. One of his requirements is to do the research work at HOME!*shocked* You know PhD students do a lot of research on their own specialised field. You have already heard of women who have few months-few years old childrens working at home by doing computering work. But research work? I may not have heard but i do think he is quite demanding at this aspect. Furthermore, he tried to be frugal. Having no internet connection under his name, he tapped his neighbour internet connection with his neighhour's permission. So brave of him if it is really true. To see a sport show, he would go to food centre(Kopitiam) to watch there where it has a tv providing starhub cable tv channel. He claimed that the owner of kopitiam was so king that he allowed him to do so. Apparently, he also get free meal occasionally or sometimes from same kopitiam.*popped my eyes out* What made me laugh is that he and his parents has policy to not travel beyond 1km boundary within Yishun area. As for now, he is asking for donation to support his expense when he discovered that his savings can't sustain him due to inflation of price of products. *thmb down* What i am impressed is that despite of netizens scolding him badly, he still reply with a smile. He never scold back. Amazing. Such people like him should be working in customer service department. A big smile and polite reply can make big difference.

He is able person. He need to lower his expectation and work. That is what he need to do. Based on official government statistical figure, he is not within unempolyment part.
In my opinion, everybody should work to keep the Singapore economy moving along in the world like a flow of a blood in your body. For disabled people who have no hands or legs should undergo such training to do such suitable work therefore they can earn money in proper way. There is no need to beg for money on the street. In my opinion, government should take this role to support this kind of initiative. The incentive should be given in order to encourage such movement. Maybe a minor corporate tax rebate for hiring disabled people.

Tons of pictures were being edited by people using Adobe Photoshop program. It is good skill and nothing to shout suggesting that it is common thing for everyone.
I remembered that i saw a picture that a guy proudly showed to everybody in a forum saying that he used merely Paint program that is pre-installed in Microsoft Windows. It is quite enough to make everybody to drop their jaws. Indeed, i am one of them.
With this inspiration i remembered from few years ago back, that is why i use less glamourous webpage design program, Microsoft Frontpage rather than powerful one like coldfusion. Simplicity tools are sufficient to encourage you to challenge to make use of this program to maximum potential of use.

One of two movies related The Romance of Three Kingdoms(San Guo Yan Yi) has been announced along with the list of confirmed actors and actresses who will be acting in this movie. It is said that this movie is heavily target at chinese and american audiences. Actually, i am inclined towards the second one which will be based on battle of chibi. However i will be watching both movies in cinema.

One local news swept local internet community. It read as a 20 years old National Serviceman took a rifle with live rounds left the camp without permission and was subsequently caught by police in 20 hours later at Orchard Cineleisure. It certainly pop my eyes out. Why AWOL especially when he has one month left to ORD?!?!?
The next day, some netizens bothered to CSI on this event and media followed it up. The possible proof was his former girlfriend who just broke with him recently after 4 years long relationship. It is very possible for such act. One thing is for sure pointing at his future which will be gone. He will be charged under Arm Act and his picture already splashed all over the media and local community. Like what i mention in previous blog entry, one thing can damage everything. It can be small thing and yet not knowing the nature of the cause, it can turn into big thing. What a pity!

Gabriel has been complained his work as a Navy officer. Worse of all, he signed 20 years bond with Navy which enable him to study in Singapore Polytechnics with $1k per month pay as he study while Navy paid his school fee. Fast forward to today, i asked him if he had second chance to sign the bond or not, he said that he would not sign it. But then the reason he signed is the issue of paying school fee. Arthur warned him that it was not wise one and he would regret. It seem to be true.
Indeed...Young people tend to miss out big picture where the future will be like while they only have looked small picture instead.
Scholarship bond?I ain't sign it if it come with condiitons attached. Such conditions can be burden if you are not top student in the first place. If i were top student having first class honour degree and was offered to master scholarship, i would accept as long as the conditions are very favourable provided that it is UK or US top university.
However best of all options is to work while study. There are some people doing something extraordinary. I am not refering to the mass people who are working as a promoter/salesperson in roadshow or any employee. I am refering least people who think of doing small scale and low cost business. I have heard some of them and they truly develop entrepreneurial spirit by doing so. Then it is best option to have because of a lot of benefits for you. Doing own business in day(afternoon-night) time and then study at night(morning). Incredible! There is huge learning process if anyone attempt to do this way.

Come to think of that. I used to have little entrepreneurial spirit when i was young selling EPL stickers that i don't have any use to stick on the book. Beside that, i even offered exchange and also sold the book to one same person at one time(Exchange:Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books to him and in return i get the three investigator books). I earned around more than $50 which is a lot to a kid like me.

Now economy stuff will start from here. Speaking of Singapore economy, i think it will grow nicely with sustained small increasement. Although there will be 1-2% inflation in most of products in Singapore provided that it is real as per the local news mentioned last week. It is quite timely that 2% increase for GST is to control inflation followed by increased length of time for ERP tax.
Oh ya, when i was walking around Orchard last Saturday night, i noticed that the traffic flow is getting better than before. Bloody hell, i remembered i sat in a bus travelling along Orchard Road 10 years ago. The traffic flow was so bad that it took almost 30 minutes or longer to get out of Orchard area due to congested area where two roads intersected each other somwhere near Takashimaya. The length of the road is so narrow that it is difficult to get out of that area as soon as possible. With introduction of tunnel at fort canning, new road layout between Dhoby Ghaut MRT station and City Hall MRT station and ERP certainly improve a lot on traffic flow.
More people will want to shop around. Demand is likely to increase since Business Times(tuesday edition) show that the manufacturing wages in Singapore is increasing faster than the inflation of production and young and elderly are getting more well-off to buy luxury goods.

Das Boot(German Movie 1981)
Synopsis:
Das Boot is one of the most gripping and authentic war movies ever made. Based on an autobiographical novel by German World War II photographer Lothar-Guenther Buchheim, the film follows the lives of a fearless U-Boat captain (Jurgen Prochnow) and his inexperienced crew as they patrol the Atlantic and Mediterranean in search of Allied vessels, taking turns as hunter and prey. There's very little plot, so the movie's power comes from both its riveting, epic battle scenes and its details of the boring hours spent waiting for orders or signs of the enemy. With the exception of one staunch Hitler Youth lieutenant, none of the crew is particularly loyal to the Nazis, and some are openly hostile toward their Fuhrer; this allows viewer sympathy with the men as they perform their laborious, monotonous duties in cramped, filthy quarters, or await death as depth charges explode all around the sub. Prochnow is excellent as the nerves-of-steel commander, and many of the supporting actors -- all German -- are solid as well, although the characterizations border on war movie clichés (the young crewman who has left behind his pregnant girlfriend, the Chief Engineer whose wife is seriously ill). The real star, however, is cinematographer Jost Vacano, who makes the sub's grimy, claustrophobic interior come to vivid life, as his camera follows the crew through hatches, up ladders, into bunks, and under pipes, creating a palpable sense of claustrophobia while injecting it with movement. Originally edited by writer/director Wolfgang Petersen as both a two-and-a-half hour theatrical release and a six-hour German miniseries, Das Boot was re-released in a restored version in 1997 with nearly one hour of added footage which made it even more suspenseful than before. Opinion:
It is quite antique film. You will find plentiful of good comments about this movie from other people who have seen it. What they said are true. Seeing people being in submarine make you feel like as if you can see that their heads are instantly pounding inside as there were numerous bombs dropping into the sea exploding simultaneously! BOOM BOOM BOOM. Imagine that!Quite unique compared to other submarine-based films even though they are modern. No tactics and it is all just skills and character to get through horrible moments when being attacked by enemy. The ending is quite nice which is not so adrupt.

Rating:7/10
