I will be posting all investment stuffs on the following blog link: tonyinvesting.blogspot.com

Here, I try to put up any interesting events I wish to share with you, the readers. At the same time, I put up the names of book and movie because it is my checklist of whether I have read or watched before.

New York

PS: pardon for some of photos as a result of poor photo-taking skill.

In April 2014, Brooklyn and Manhattan are the first stops for my US trip. On the first day of the US trip, I was incredibly excited to get my mind to analyse everything. It was because I am solo-travelling by public transport. I first got prepaid card at Brooklyn after taking Metro from JFK. My first accommodation was at Brooklyn.

To travel to Lower Manhattan on the second day of US trip, I passed by Manhattan Bridge and walked towards Brooklyn Bridge.
Finally, I walked on Brooklyn Bridge. It was very speculator view for me, seeing tall buildings on Manhattan.

After exiting Brooklyn Bridge, I walked towards Lower Manhattan so that I could see what Wall Street looks like.

I also spotted New York Stock Exchange building (I often buy NYSE-listed stocks)

I saw the building which is Federal Reserve Bank of New York - in fact, it looks magnificent than MAS (Singapore's Central Bank).

I took free ferry that bring me to Staten Island because it will pass by Statute of Liberty.
I need to take the same ferry again so that I can return to Lower Manhattan. Walking towards Little Italy, I saw bull icon statue. Although I did take picture, the picture contained strangers being eager to take picture of themselves next to the bull statute. Hence, I didn't put it up here.

I also passed by World Trade Centre there.

After World Trade Centre, I searched for Goldman Sachs headquarter as per below picture.

I saw fashion stores in this below picture:

On the next day, I checked out in the earliest morning and carried my Osprey backpack as my new accommodation stay is at Harlem area. So I walked and crossed Williamsburg Bridge. After exiting Williamsburg Bridge, I walked from one end to the other end. On the other end side, I walked along Hudson River.

I decided to have lunch at Times Square area - I saw quite number of concerts.

I was amazed to see so many flashy and colourful advertisements at Times Square. That is so new to me because there are not that many advertisement at Orchard Road.

I went to Rockfeller Centre because I wanted to see aerial view of Manhattan on Top of the Rock.

Carrying less than 10kg backpack wore me out for whole morning and afternoon. So I took metro to Harlem for my new accommodation. End of day 3

On the third day of US trip, my aim was to visit my favourite university school, Columbia Business School. So, I walked from my accommodation stay to there.

After that, I collected my Amazon parcel from locker, which is few minutes walk away from Columbia University area.

It was raining at that time. I managed to arrive Midtown Manhattan at around 1pm.

After lunch, I visited Empire State building.

End of day 4 and 5.

My next blog entry will be day 6 of US trip, which I took round-trip Amtrak to Boston, MA, USA.

Books

Book Title: The Frackers: The Outrageous Inside Story of the New Billionaire Wildcatters
Author: Gregory Zuckerman

Book Title: The Warren Buffetts Next Door: The World's Greatest Investors You've Never Heard of and What You Can Learn From Them
Author: Matthew Schifrin

It should be considered as a book for corporate government and ethics class.

Book Title: Investing Against the Tide: Lessons from a Life Running Money

Remark: The author wants to show us how weak survive against strong. This can be done in certain conditions. It is very motivating to people who feel weak.

Book Title: The Flash Boys

Book Title: Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion
