Day 17 and Day 18 of Overseas Trip 2016

The Sapporo-based host told me that Sapporo beer brewery was closed for renovation. It was unfortunate that I had empty plan on Day 17.

I went to Central area of Sapporo to explore the shopping area as well as long underpass shopping area.

On the next day, Day 18, I woke up very early so that I could take the earliest train to Hakodate. It is about 3 hours 30 minutes ride from Sapporo to Hakodate in Hokkaido.

The tram stop is about 5 minutes walk from Hakodate station. There are two different lines plying on the same tram lane - so, I had to ensure that I am on the right line which I need to go to Hakodate host's home.

It is easy to find host's home because it is just outside the tram station. I peacefully leave my backpack and went out again.

The aim was to go to Goryokaku Park. I wanted to be on the tower to see star-shaped fortress.

I found the tower! It was about 30 minutes walk from tram station.

It is quite costly to enter to the top of the tower. I truly learnt how the star-shaped fortress came about.

Unfortunately, cherry blossom had not happened. It would occur in few weeks later. That is why Hokkaido is the last one to have cherry blossom.

After that, I was still bullish to see another aerial view of Hakodate. To do that, I took the tram on the way back until it was two stops away from the host's home.

It was relatively easy to find Mount Hakodate Ropeway Station. It is on the left side.

It was at 5pm. It was not crowded. Thus, it was easier for me to take the pictures.

It is quite expensive to use cable to climb up the Mount Hakodate. Thus, I set my mind to sit and take pictures of the sunset.

Please observe the sunlight trail on the sea and the position of the sun.

During the sunset, there were a lot of tourists led by tourist guides. Extremely crowded in the room.

After that, I quickly descent together with China Chinese and Taiwanese Chinese tourists on the tram - too crowded.

Finally, I went back to host's home. End of Day 18.

Drama

Title: Higanbana (Japanese Drama 2014)
Synopsis: The lady can hear sounds coming from people's hearts and minds even though they never told out of their mouth. It is the result of the bad incident she experienced as a child. She is part of a team consisting of only women in Tokyo Police headquarter.
Rating: 7/10
Remark: Nice pace of story. Apparently, it seems that working women are promoted so as to encourage real life companies to hire more women.
