Synopsis

This is a smartly done comic drama that gives hope and courage to young people going through difficult times.
Super Rookie is a story of a man who gets a job in a big company because of a computer error. The drama reveals his work, love and passions in life in a very interesting way. Our hero Kang Ho doesn't have a family background that makes him stand out among the crowd, but he has plenty of friends who will stand up for him. He never gets discouraged despite all of life's difficulties. Kang Ho's high spirits and Mi-ok's efforts to improve her life give today's younger generation a chance to look at their own lives and ponder what's truly valuable.

Starring

Kang, Ho (Acted by Eric Mun)
He was born into an average family. Even though all his parents want from him was for him to be an A student, he seems talented in many areas other than in academics. His athletic talents were noticed when he was an elementary school student. The various sports teams at his schools offered him a chance to play all kinds of sports, but he got tired of their hard and violent training methods, so he always called it quits. He managed to go to a small and unknown college and majored in physical education. It took him twice as long as normal to get his degree since he spent more time playing pool and dancing in the clubs. He sends his resumes to almost all the companies around, but he isn't called in for a single interview. Being a freeloader, he doesn't mind buttering up his little brother to get some pocket money. However, he never feels bad about his situation and always keeps his spirits high. He spends his days reading comic books at his friend's comic book store. Sometimes, he makes up his mind and sends out resumes to prove to his family that he's not going to be freeloader for the rest of his life, nonetheless his family doesn't expect much from him. He was once popular with the girls thanks to his handsome appearance and athletic talents, but now he can't even afford to take a girl out for a cup of coffee. He runs into his high school friend, Bong-Sam and happens to apply for a job in the company where his friend is working. His life is about to turn upside down thanks to some mistakes.

Lee Mi-Ok (Acted by Han Ga-In)
She was born into a poor family. Her mother raised her by working as a maid. Being a smart child, she learned at an early age how to take care of herself as well as how to do housework by helping her mother. By the time she finished elementary school, her mother fell ill and they moved to her mother's hometown. She helped her mother make a living at which time she couldn't even afford to go to middle school. As soon as her mother got better, she resumed her studies and graduated from a commercial high school. Since she was such a hard-working and smart student, she got a job with the help of her school principle's recommendation. She met Bong-Sam who was working at the same company and fell in love with him. She and Bong-Sam had a serious relationship, but Bong-Sam left her and was transferred to an overseas branch office. Since she didn't have a father when she grew up, she was more heartbroken when Bong-Sam left her. She went to the Han River to end her miserable life, but couldn't commit suicide because of Kang Ho. Working in the same company where she used to dream of a future with Bong-Sam is very hard for her, but she doesn't have any other choice. She just blames herself for trusting a man who didn't love her. One day, she finds out that Kang Ho, who saved her life, has started working in her company.

Park, Bong-Sam (Acted by Oh Ji-Ho)
He seems to have it all. He has a good education and a sense of humor. Because of his parents' divorce, he was raised by his grandmother. After his grandmother died, he was sent to live with his alcoholic father. He's a person of strong will. Despite his terrible childhood, he's building a successful life of his own. Since he knows that his mother abandoned her family for another man, he doesn't trust love and he refuses to make a commitment in a relationship. Ignoring the fact that his sick father lives in a small shed, he leads a decent life style in his own apartment.

Seo, Hyeon-Ah (Acted by Lee So-Yeon)
She's never been a genius, but thanks to her parents' attention and investment, she studied abroad after graduating from a prestigious university in Korea. Since she's always been the center of the attention, she tends to be selfish. She went to the same university with Bong-Sam. Later, Bong-Sam leaves Mi-Ok for her.

My opinion:
This drama is simply brillant and funny. Geezz...how can a person with shitty resume get into world-class corporation!

Kang Ho decided to try his luck to apply the job at LK(korean corporation) after looked down by his high school classmate,Bong-Sam.
Why LK? His another high school classmate,Sung-Tae had already written the resume form and so Kang Ho decided to follow him to get back at Bong-Sam.

As far you know, famous companies usually have stringent checks. LK is no exemption to it.
After Kang Ho and Sung Tae submitted the form, the administrative ladies check tons of forms including theirs.
One of 3 ladies looked at Kang Ho's and gave a sneeze at his horrible education background like unknown university(famous ones usually like Seoul National University).
She put Kang Ho's form in the one of two boxes laballed 'rejected'.
The moment the meals came to the office, another administrative lady rushed to join the rest to eat...her leg happened to brush Kang Ho's form and his form flew nicely into another box labelled 'Accepted'
Now,that is 'WHAT THE FUCK' thing when Sung-Tae whose education background is quite good where he studied in Seoul National University heard that Kang Ho was accepted.
That is the first round..Sung-Tae smirked at Kang Ho saying that there is another round that Kang Ho might not able to survive.
(indeed, i heard from someone that he happen to filter out the resumes into two boxes aka 'Rejected' and 'Accepted', the superior/supervisor told him that those who went university from poly will be put into 'Rejected' box. It affected him because he was diploma holder and planned to get degree. He wondered it woulbe damn wasteful if he were to study for degree and got himself rejected. Several reponses like 'unlucky, other companies are not like that.' and 'discrimination!'
From what i see this situation,it is all down to luck. Some companies are like that but others are not. It is difficult to figure who are not like that. If you are damn lucky to apply the company that don't care about what route you went through, that is it. If you claim that it is not lucky, then what?Although people have certain sort of mentality, end of the day you will be the one picking the choice to apply before facing them.It is all about luck when you are applying high position)

Second round check consisted of MCQ questions.
No matter how hard Kang Ho studied,he fell asleep.
On the day of second round, he used pencil..there are 8 sides..each side has different number of dots..eg.. 1 dot,2 dots,3 dots and etc to determine the choice of MCQ answer.
Guess what!On a MCQ paper,he did like this!

GUESS WHAT AGAIN!The machine that grade the MCQ answer can work properly on the answers that has no pattern shapes but not Kang Ho's
Machine went cocked and graded Kang Ho's answer as FULL SCORE instead of ZERO SCORE.
Sung-Tae failed and Kang Ho passed.Sung-Tae,knowing Kang Ho so well couldn't believed that the second round should be objective regardless of the first round.
Even Kang Ho's parents looked him down until they saw the result on the newspaper saying that Kang Ho passed.
The same administrative lady checked the result and profiles. She was surprised that Kang Ho is among them and reported to her supervisor about it.
Her supervisor said ."How can this fucking loser apply in LK?" and he checked Kang Ho's MCQ answer sheet. He was shocked that the answer sheet had all wrong answers and did not reported to District Manager Kim because he wanted to cover up knowing that the 3rd round would be the final straw for Kang Ho.

Third and Last round. It is 2 rounds of face-to-face interview.
One of 2 rounds requite Kang Ho to speak English since LK is international corporation. Unfortunately,he didn't know how to speak or read English.
He was assigned to a group consisted of few people.
Unable to tell them in english,he made use of his group member to help him to translate Korean to English where he show his delication to work for LK.
This blonde foreginer was impressed and gave him good score.
Not yet over!
Next round..
The district manager,Kim who was in charge of Administrative Department overheard the gossip that there was a top hire who score full score in 2nd round.
He asked his secretary to bring Kang Ho's profile and he would be attending the last interview.
There were about 5 judges including Manager Kim.
Manager Kim gave a favor when Kang Ho did not know how to answer a question when asked by one of 5 judges.
When Manager Kim asked Kang Ho about his hobby,Kang Ho said "i am embarrassed to tell you that he likes to read comics"
Manager Kim laughed and gave a good impression..
The other judges were jealous and asked Kang Ho another question about economy("Considering the worldwide economic slump,do you feel democracy and
capitalism can coexist?)
Kang Ho suddenly had a light bulb on his head recalling that Sung Tae told him "True democracy and capitalism cannot coexist.Look at multinational investment organizations. More than opening up markets for a free economy, all they're doing is polarizing the rich and the poor!
After that, District Manager Kim was so impressed and gave him high score.

KANG HO WAS HIRED AFTER GOING THROUGH THREE ROUNDS CHECK!
Supervisor quickly went to ask District Manager Kim about it.
Supervisor asked ,"What's this Kang Ho like?"
Manager Kim curiously asked ,"Why do you ask?"
Supervisor answered ."He's been hired."
Supervisor quietly exposed to Manager Kim.
Manager Kim was shocked.
Why?Why did supervisor cover up?
Because the decision to buy machines to check the MCQ answer and this hires was Manager Kim's decision and the other excecutives couldn't stop because it is all autocratic style of leadership Manager Kim displayed during the meeting.
If it was to be exposed,Manager Kim's head would be rolling!
They had to cover it up and tried to make Kang Ho to do voluntary resignation.
BUT THEY FAILED!
LOL!

This show is quite special.Although there are some love scenes but it focus more how people kissed higher rank positions' asses.
Anything wrong?COVER IT UP BEFORE OPPONENT(same company) ATTACK US!
That is how companies are like that
Unable to establish authority? Two supervisors in same department fight and shout each other because of it!
You did superb project but the higher rank would steal yours and submit as somebody else credit and the higher rank get promoted.
It is all about office politics. Be warned.

Kang Ho survived all and got 3 awards.
Even supervisor,Manager Kim and Bong-Sam couldn't believe it!
What amazing stunts Kang Ho did for LK?
1)During the training, all newbies were assigned to sell all kind of LK products and surrender their wallets, mobile phones and bags.
Kang Ho managed to have 2000 orders of lingeries.(on realistic note,it is already IMPOSSIBLE)
2)Supervisor decided to send Kang Ho to negiotate the contruction problem.
Within one day,he solved it by enlisting his friends to make the thugs to sign the agreement. They were stunned! How can 6 months impasse negoitation ended within a day!"
(HAHA,it is really funny!)
3)Supervisor assigned Kang Ho to pass the documents to two 'Ang Mohs' and his co-worker,Mi-Ok overheard the dialogue from two 'Ang Mohs' in the lift while Kang Ho looked for them in LK hotel.
One of two 'Ang-Mohs' tested her whether she could understand English and she didn't fell into their trick by pretending.
Mi-Ok told Kang Ho about it and Kang Ho informed to Supervisor Moon(not the same supervisor asshole) about it. They decided to submit last year documents about LK strategy to market.
It turn out that two 'Ang Mohs' were corporation cons-men.
Again, the president want to send him an award.Manager Kim was jealous!(HAHAHAHA)

Rating:10/10

This show show that no matter what education background they have, we should not look them down and they can do something wonder!
HAHAHAA!I like this one. I really wish that i am in Kang Ho's shoes because i don't have to study and i still get into a fixed income job.
